Riddle of the Pathless Path



Each time I enter the semi circle that is gathered around the fire at the Benwiskin Centre I tell a story.  More often than not this is a new story that has come from a line of a poem that has or is presently inspiring me.

Included in these stories there is sometimes a riddle.  I am a riddle maker.  Children and adults love riddles but these riddles are not simply entertainment.  They are written to invite the listener into the direct experience of the greatest riddle of all - that although you feel separate from most everything that in truth you are forever One.

This is why the master storyteller Jesus Christ used parables.  They have to go beyond the rational mind which barrs entry to the experience of non-duality - that which is not either/or but both this and that at the same time.

Riddles and parables have  been important divices throughout the journey of the spirti.  The greatest riddles are those of the Zen koan such as "What is the sound of one hand clapping.  This riddle, however, isn't much fun for children and would in all likelihood send participants of a drumming workshop to have an early night.

So the riddle I am working with goes something like this. 

"Go to the placeless place and follow the forgotten path to the door of twixt and in between.  There enter the circle of gold and make the two one.  Do all of this without doing all of this and the light will return."

The Sisterhood of the Rose

Ever since I began this journey with the Sanctuary of the Divine Feminine I keep meeting Her at every fork in the road, in the places I expect to find Her as well as the ones I do not.  It is as though She is telling me I need to keep my eye on Her always, no matter what I am doing.  Whether that be at work or play seems not to matter at all. 

I love to read.  It is my very favorite pastime and has been since age twelve.  I love to curl up in a comfy chair and while away the hours in distant places, far removed from my everyday existence.  The library is a constant haunt and now the books in which She features seem to be falling off the shelves into my hands.

I just finished one entitled ‘’The Sisterhood of the Rose” by Jim Marrs, what the author describes as faction-fiction mixed up with fact.  It is based on a woman’s memories of a previous life during World War 11 and is undeniably a great yarn in the tradition of the Da Vinci Code.

In the wake of a near death experience  Celeste Levesque began to manifest  increased psychic ability as well as other gifts and was given a download of the information which is the basis of the book.  She did everything she could to verify the information she was given and not only she but six other people claimed recollections of the sisterhood and the events of the story.  There were many characters that turned out to be real people but two were never verified.

For me this does not matter.  I have long suspected that truth is a thing of different shape depending on ones perspective and information that is given from the world of spirit may not necessarily be entirely truthful from a human point of view.

What is wonderful to me in this story and the other places I continue to meet the Divine Feminine is that Her time has come for those with ears to hear and eyes to see.  There *is* a continuation of an understanding of how important She is, and it spans time, flowering in different places and eras as humankind are able to open to Her.  The Languedoc in southern France in the 10-12th centuries was one of those times, and ours is another.  And if one believes the story of the Sisterhood of the Rose the Second World War was one also.

I will continue to haunt the library and the bookstore and know that this great energy of the Divine Feminine will continue to strew gems in my path, teaching me what I need to know along the way.  It is wonderful to be shown that the help and support of the spirit world is there for those of us who desire it.

This blog is written in order to inspire confidence to create and run a small business and  fully express the wonder tale you are here to be and to share.  Business, has of late, had a very poor image.  Yet there are hundreds of thousands of people running and working in small businesses within Ireland who are creating the real wealth of the nation that is a product of their courage, commitment and discipline.

This blog is entitled “Alternative Business Creation.”  The word alternative is used in the sense that the poet Rumi uses it in the following invitation:-

“Let the beauty of who you are be the work that you do.”

This isn’t the usual language used in inviting you to create or run a small business.  In business we talk about productivity and the bottom line.  The language of business is the language of opposition.  The language used in business include such phrases as “making a killing,” “exploitation of resources” and “murdering the competition.”  Words such as “beauty,” and the invitation to becoming the fullness of who you are, tend not to be mentioned as a directional goal.

This is why this blog, dedicated to the promotion of small business development, includes the word “alternative.”  This writer intends to promote small business development as the work that you are intended to beautify the world with.  The word beauty is not to be confused with the word glamour. 

I am a writer and storyteller about the invitation to the  world of beauty through Irish mythology and wonder tales from other world traditions.  The beauty, written about here, is the experience of being able to engage with the creative force that birthed you into existence in order for the joy of knowing another way of being Love in form.

In Ireland we are experiencing the results of a focus on deep self interest.  In the long term business that is focused only on the interest of self and not in service to the wider community does not nourish the heart.  When the heart is not nourished the result is that the unconscious will force a situation where the centre will not hold in order that creation can expand into deeper and deep aspect of Love in action.
